Intersectoral collaboration among different policymakers and public entities is crucial to achieving mitigation goals, as no single ministry or government can do it alone. Equally important is the involvement of all stakeholders at the state and local level in the development of strategies and in their implementation, so that urban governance takes into account the social determinants of health. A health-oriented approach will help to develop policies that focus on cost savings and more effective urban planning that includes reducing traffic congestion.
